Defo be back, used to visit years ago when I lived in Dundee. Still a great place to eat.
We had a lovely meal at Porters restaurant. The service was fantastic, the food was really, really good and the place had a lovely atmosphere. The only negative thing was the place was a little warm but we were there on quite a warm day. I'm just going to say it again. The food was excellent. I would totally recommend the Steak and ale pie and the baked macaroni. And I would love to go back next time I'm in Dundee.
Nice, cosy, upbeat bar/restaurant down at The Quay. The staff are really nice and friendly here too. 2nd time coming here for food. This time it was for the boyfs birthday. I had the sea bass, boiled baby potatoes, Mediterranean veg and a tomato and chorizo sauce. Oh ya dancer!! The sauce is tasty, tasty. It's too bad they don't do that sauce as a wee side portion cause I'd dip my chips in it aaaaaaall day! Could not fault my meal. Could've eaten it again, actually. The boyf had the chilli burger, which came with chips and coleslaw. The burger looked really meaty. I was getting meat sweats looking at it! Chips were thick cut and cooked to perfection. Lovely and fluffy inside. Got a couple side portions of beer battered onion rings and a side portion of mac cheese just to taste. The onion rings were really crispy and the mac cheese, cheesy.
Nice place, went on a Friday afternoon for lunch. Quick service, piping hot food. I had the steak pie, the carrots were the best I have had in a long time
I booked Porters for my mom’s 80th birthday and was so impressed with the whole process. The team were very supportive of our large booking (35 people) and as I submitted our order in advance the food was piping hot when we were ready for it. They supported with putting up decorations and setting up a cake table. The servers were very lovely. The food was very good quality and not a single complaint from the table. I would definitely recommend Porters for a party or special occasion! Thank you!
We went for a family birthday meal as a party of 13. They asked for a 10 deposit per person and asked for our orders before hand. This allowed them to provide excellent service and they even accommodated those that wanted a last minute pudding on the night! Super friendly staff, really approachable and attentive. Every single person was delighted with their meals and we all said it was the tastiest meals we’ve had. Don’t feel like you need to go with your “safe” meal choice because they’re amazing at absolutely everything on their menu! We all had an amazing night and will defo be back. Thank you!!
Porters Bar and Restaurant in Dundee is a fantastic spot for a meal. I had a burger with chips, cheesy garlic bread, and a Baileys Special Martini cocktail—all of which were absolutely delicious. The food was well-prepared and full of flavor. The interior has a great atmosphere, with a unique take on Dundee’s history that adds to the experience. Being close to the River Tay, it’s also a great place to visit while exploring the city. Whether you're looking for a good meal or just a nice spot to unwind, Porters is definitely worth checking out. Highly recommend!
Food was so good. Our server (the Irish girl) was friendly and polite. There wasn't lots to choose from but for us that's a bonus. No sitting for ages trying to choose simething. The pepper corn sauce was amazing!
